The Eagle by Alfred Tennyson

I think I studied this poem in Class VIII or so and this poem has remained in the back of my mind always. I think this poem has such powerful imagery associated with it - if you just read it, it is just about an eagle. But again, looking between the lines, it just about the inherent power anyone can have in them......

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls
