All it takes is a split second...

Yesterday I got the news of the sudden demise of a friend, Navneet.
Though we werent particularly close, we worked in the same team and shared some very good moments....

While it has been fairly easy to carry on with the usual things, I would be lying if I said it hasnt affected me. My thoughts keep going back to her and questioning why...and a huge sense of deja vu of two such similar events - Sirisha's death and Saraswati mami's. Both very sudden!

People often say 'it was so sudden that it is so surreal', but will it ever not be surreal? Be it accident or after some illness, the very fact of accepting someone is gone from your life forever is always so difficult to comprehend.

A person full of plans for tomorrow, wishes for the future, worries from the present, bills to pay, promises to keep or break....just stops being suddenly? One minute she is there, the next no longer there.....it like someone throws a switch......

All this brings in glaring realization the mortality of us. As I get more embroiled in our life and love, the more vunerable I get. The more I realize on how less control I have on anything...how much I am at the mercy of my destiny or the Supreme Being.

But thats the pleasure of life! And for any change in it, all it takes is a split second.
